DEVELOPPING IDEA #3: The Scenes

WHEN I WAS STLL USING PICNIC BY THE MOTORWAY AND MY ORIGINAL PROTAGONIST ACTRESS
Starting with narrative enigma of guitar playing would fit as guitar player was first thing on (as it was also the first tune before the singing starts). All this was done to show the four members as building up momentum for the lead singer.

the image of a isolated picnic basket on field, have Marie drink robotically tea as if trying to have fun.

Freeze like in Hiroshima Mon Amour at 2'40, after the dancing starts. then photography stalking?

CAN'T GET ENOUGH

INTRODUCING THE BAND + THE NARRATIVE:

At the beginning we have close-ups/figments of the bodies of the band performing, as in preparation. Brett walking with his back turned to the camera, then as the second erupting part starts, he turns and walks forward.

Have the female protagonist walking backwards, maybe wearing the same (oh of course she's gonna be kinda based on Justin Frishmann, and then as she turns, we cross-cut with close-ups of both their feet walking, but mainly stay with her, then the big  have an establishing shot of the whole band playing maybe.

Question whether to have the girl in narrative enigma beforehand, have her in the bath, have her on her back like the beginning of The Pixies's Magdalena.

DIEGETIC STUFF
Diegetic interruption, with the track playing out of sound speakers like in Seeed's What You Deserve Is What You Get + Disclosure's Grab Her!. Have the protagonist lying on the ground surrounded by radios and other devices, opportunity for product placement or to mock it. Could have a recording of the band or Brett Anderson alone singing. Shame I can't put it on VHS, but maybe instead she could be discovering an old programme, one of the many Video Programmes I've still got lying around, it's like an ancient manuscript.

END:

Like in The Pixies's Ring The Bell, a collection of VHS tapes, books. She embraces all the art, goes with Brett Anderson's bookish (include quote "Well I read about two books a day"
Oh ending on putting the VHS tape on screen, alternate ending to waking up.
That's the product placement if any, art.

Also have maybe a character hinted who is part of the privileged sector who have access to all the art forms, have a book near him out of the view of the protagonist.

Research audience, teens with retro interest.
