PERFORMANCE SHOOT #1 - Reflection

WHAT TO LEARN FROM

• Don't underestimate the effect of a playback on speakerphones instead of computer or smartphone 
• Stress to performers that they shouldn't look at the camera ever unless instructed to, only the lead singer
• Make it clear they shouldn't smile, find an emotionless and concentrated facial expression to fit in with verisimilitude 
• Always consider in the weather, especially if it's cold, arrange hot drinks. Make sure all where clothing that keeps them warm. If they need to look barer, then make it clear that they will be cold, if they are ok with this and find exact times when you're going to do that.
• Everyone needs to bring water, especially if it's very hot
• Arrange some sort of warm drinks, if you can't bring thermos flasks ask 
• Make it clear to any people nearby that they should never press the stop recording button, in this case should have made it clear

• Fake rehearsal of choreography for the live tour, Diamond Dogs-style 
• Brett Anderson is a very literate/well-read person (signifying a more high art musician some would say), he could show his bookishness by showing himself reading the  book, or a cover of a book. That can thereby widen out the audience, those teenagers who are bookish themselves (again I'm stereotyping audiences, not cool!!!)

• Have 20-30 secs of a location or a character in the dystopian, glam rock world, like Algeria Touchshriek in David Bowie's 1.Outside, extra short clips like Halsey did with Strangers (however explicity saying that it is not a music video)

ARTIST RESEARCH - Digipak Research

The band isn't on the album cover, they do not have such a high profile that needs to be marketed so they don't need to be, this is something I have seen in indie bands such as Kraftklub, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Arctic Monkeys.

A recurrent style I have seen is a squiggly like thin writing, in Bloodsports.

I did not use a Gimbal in my AS coursework, so I watched this tutorial video made by last year's Media Students Johny and Kristan on the Media TechTipps blog.

This use of steadicam was made famous in the opening film of the archetypal 1978 slasher film Halloween, however was also used in Psycho.
