Indie rock is a subgenre of rock, rock being an umbrella genre, other subgenres include punk, heavy metal, post-rock.

PERFORMANCE
Emphasis on playing instruments. For instance, while electro pop we have the lead singer singing, we don't often see the instruments such as the keyboards, solo artists in general don't always include their backing bands in the video (David Bowie is an example who switched between the two.
So we will have solo shots of the guitar, drums, base players, keyboardists.
The singer(s) will often use a lot of facial expressions, while the instrument players often perform stoically focussing on their performance. There is a general emphasis on the lead singer, not only due to him having screen time of singing, but he may often interact more in the narrative (Final shot could be on him like in Kraftklub's Fenster).
Is becoming more and more common to include live performances with audiences, shows they have an audience.

There are videos of just performances, but it is more common to follow the cross-cutting of performance and narrative.

NARRATIVE SHOOT #4 Reflection

THINGS TO LEARN FROM:

• Again underestimated how long the filming would take, overran for 30 minutes, which my actors were thankfully willing to continue, however for future need to plan time exactly more accordingly
• I should have printed out the couple photos that the protagonist's ex-partner throws out of the window and rips up as soon as I shot them, not leave it to a couple of days beforehand, and having issues meaning they had to be quickly printed 
• Didn't fully think through the practicalities of effectively capturing the clothes falling down in the air

THINGS THAT WENT WELL:

• Structuring the Shot List into locations instead of chronology was definitely sa big-time saver and made the shoot more organised
• Directing the actors

For artistic variety have the titles be in different colour and maybe even different case and font, as I have seen in examples like Kate Bush's Aerial.

Have some landscape shots of the city, need to choose what goes outside and inside. Like the landscape shots in Björk's Bastards

SOME FORM OF PROSE OR POETRY

A Sort of prequel and taster like the poem which was also featured in the trailer (could do the same with a trailer of mine). Package
Could also be very unconventional and not have the track listing on the black, and juts this letter

LYRIC BOOKLET

Each song is its own little world, with characters, like the Führerling in Sadie, Beautiful Ones remix bunch of kids? Can't Get Enough Nissi's character Attitude or Duchess the White Made-Up character 

If I can find a song about decadence, the rich, the privileged, and have really shiny photos of buildings like in Kirchberg.

Like George Michael's *Insert title* and David Bowie's Outside, but have the lyrics on the images unlike with George Michael's where they are separated.

Some of these can be gestured as short vids on Instagram and Facebook like Halsey did with Strangers. 

So generally create a fictional illusion, unlike a foreword about the Songs like in Rise Againt's Long Forgotten Songs which maintains the real world behind the songs.

Also have some landscape shots inebetween.

Should I number the pages (like I saw in Caravan's Palace)

Don't have them all vertical, have some horizontal, turned, like in Bowie's Reality, sort of done in Suede's Bloodsports. Don't make it look all neat and orderly, bit chaotic and unsettling for the fictional narrative this album has. 

Instead of having all the lyrics, have excerpts like in Lana Del Rey's Ultraviolence, without the title of the song

EvalQ3a - AUDIENCES
A Recording of a YouTube comment chain, with audience members of different ages commenting on the new promo texts for Suede, including the original audience who are now in their 40s, my new primary audience who are in the age range of 15-25, some YouTubers who do not find Suede appealing as a band, either find them too avant-garde and prefer more traditional rock bands like OneRepublic, or older fans prepared to be more mainstream and listen to the Britpop bands such as Oasis, Blur + Pulp. Others might find them too tame when comparing them to Placebo or heavy metal bands.

I could parody Update Deluxe and the American/British versions, to show what the media's reaction would be to the music video (would they care, is my act high-profile enough? Or if not could it mainly rely on the video itself, proving Dan Miller they are rising as an art form at their own right?)
Just like the presenter mentioned the intertextual references to past Sido videos, I can also mention intertextual references to both the act and other media/art forms.

THE MUSIC ITSELF
An older fan during the 90s just when CD has come through, or the Walkman. They shudder at the sign that vinyl is going to become more and more obsolete. 
Then someone from the future comes back and explains it to them, and gives them hope, explains that nostalgia will create.
"Oh look", gets a news notification that Sony are opening a new vinyl factory in Japan.

A mixture of both 3a+b, Capitalism vs Creativity, Mainstream Vs Niche, Arthouse vs commercial. Have the plotting commercial entity and the contrasting artistic entity argue about how their products will be/would be more financially succesful/artisistically relevant (and therefore have different reactions from audience in terms of size, type and feelings, u+G, representation, targeting LgBT+ audiences, less represented audiences
"But that doesn't make money, look at *name some examples of flak (chomsky's propaganda model), such as the transgender video co-produced with Pornhub, Suede's Animal Nitrate banned at first from MTV
Times have changed.
