PLANNING SHOOT #1 - The Whole Band

LOCATION: Trier-West, Luxemburger Street
DATE: Saturday 13th January 2o17
TIME: 11:00

ACTORS
Philipp Kirsch - Lead Singer
Silas Hepke - Lead Guitarist
Nicholas - Base Player
Jochen - Drums
Dennis Haag or Julian Rambo - Electric Guitarist/Keyboard (Dennis Haag is my first choice, however still hasn't got in contact. Julian Rambo has confirmed to be he will be coming, so he is my stand-in

EQUIPMENT
Philipp is bringing microphone with cord cabel (own property)
Silas is bringing guitar (own property)
Nicolas is bringing a base guitar and electric guitar (own property)
Jochen is bringing the drums (own property)
If Dennis Haag plays, he can bring a keyboard just to make the band look more impressive

PLANNING
In the car but the gimbal together
When there, it will take my drummer Jochen 30 minutes to set up the drums
Silas, the guitarist will be joining us as we set it up

SCHEDULING
WHOLE BAND at Trier West Luxemburger Strasse
Play the song so they can all play their instruments get them in the mood 
Film the whole band together
 - Philipp jumping and moving and then all of the band jumping during the guitar solos of 2:10 - 2:28, side shots of individual players, they can be either sped up or slowed down
Also have the whole band singing it together, with one of them breaking in to it
Julian in close-up watching with a hood (Close-up also of the camera) (later this stalker will watch back videos or photos of both the girl and the performer)
THE LEAD SINGER with band in background 
Shaking hair, going through hair like a brush, and flickering one side away

Close-ups of the band with lead singer
Do close-ups of each band members with others in background
Drums:
- Cymbals for the "I Can't Get Enough chorus"
- Pedal Kick for later moment
- Close-up of picking up the sticks, so that some of the drums are visible

AT THE END
Short takes of the microphone stand and drums on their own

FRAMING THE LOCATION
Avoid the other side with cars and other signs of a more normal civilisation

  1. Again, do not proliferate your blog with lots of posts like this. Reflect on such points in the (meant to be) regular podcasts.
    You should have a detailed post for planning of each shoot (including call sheets - and you need to have separately posted an overall storyboard); then a post reflecting on the shoot asap after filming, including some sample clips edited together, and any (edited) behind-the-scenes (which should immediately be put on your social media, to build up content for your website and evidence of audience engagement).

  2. Your shoot planning post lacked a clear shot list or call sheet; there is no reference to two/3/4 shots, or specifics on angles or movement for example. You need a clear and simple list YOU can tick off, so you don't need to think about what to do on the day and can film as quickly and efficiently as possible.
    Either in this post or a follow up post there should be reflection on the shoot:
    - summary of what went well
    - summary of what didn't
    - summary of anything you failed to shoot
    - short edited sample sequence of shots
    - edited behind the scenes to evidence directing, set dressing etc
