POSSIBLE IDEA #1 - David Bowie's Sweet Thing

One of my favourite albums is Diamond Dogs, a fuse between glam rock, progressive rock and soul.
For months now the idea of a music video has been shaping in my head, that of the songs Sweet Thing/Candidate/Sweet Thing (Reprise)

Bowie live performing, footage from the Alan Yentob documentary Cracked Actor.

The official live recording

THE CONCEPT
Have the performer David Bowie play a character, the character of a transgender prostitute. It would be about how in a future dystopian world there is an increase in homelessness and living out on rough conditions on the street, similar to Victorian times.
It then follows the degradation and extreme situations that lead to the protagonist

IDEAS FOR SCENES

  • Close-ups of female clothing and lipstick being applied, make you think it's a woman, have a revelation, this is in the middle of the narrative
  • Cross-cut back to how it started
  • Represent encounters with clients through choreography (so as to make it school appropriate)
  • End ("Jump in a river holding hands"), standing infront of a river, unsure what to do
  • Or Diegetic outro, protagonist with money in hand, not sure, then nearby there's a club playing another Bowie track
